Here's my first contest entry here, and my very first attempt at altering a quarter-view image.

With this edit I was aiming for the possibility of a SuperSport production version.

This is what I did to it;
Wheels and side mirrors changed to black color.
Darkened brightness of front turn signals and corrected for glare over front end.
Rear pillar was doubled to create side vent with grille screen added, and rear window adjusted to fit.
Side marker lights were narrowed with front light repositioned lower.
Black trim molding adjusted at door jams and wheel wells.
Created break in front trim molding and corrected lower gap in license plate cover.
Door handle was shortened and lengthened.
Faux fender vent louvers were moved to door with 3rd one added.
Roof blackened to resemble matte vinyl roof.
Removed hood logo, replaced with logo on fender with SuperSport 'SS' logo and '572' emblem added.
SuperSport lettering added to seats.
Hood contours raised up slightly, changed to black color with vent scoops added.
Corvette logo with flames added as 'ghost' hood decal below hood vent scoops.
Side rocker panels darkened, and SuperSport lettering added.
Rear fender flair tilted out slightly at top with widened rear tire.
Headlights spit into dual pop-up design for separate Hi-Lo beam.
Removed 3rd tail light from roof, presume sunken into body.
Added shading to windshield and side window.
Corvette concept race car and hazard cones added to background.
Background 'fog' shading and foreground colored illumination added.

Curious... I'm thinking I went the wrong direction for the audience on this site as this was my first quarter-view image. Was it too simplistic, boring, or just far "below par" in creativity or editing to get any critique for improvement?

The overall idea you had was great. You kept things to your current skill level versus just screwing up a chop. The idea of the dual headlights is cool. You could have done away with the decal. The hood scoops are a good touch but the are low quality try to find High Res donors. Good chop man keep up the good work!

Dont let lack of comments put you off, the site goes through weird phases of busy/ inactive.

The chop looks good for your first non side angle, everything blends in rather nicely.

Only improvement I can add is that the face of the wheels which are black is looking a bit flat, Have a play with the dodge tool and the burn tool or add more contrast to them to give them more impact

Ta2man - Thanks for the reply, I really do appreciate any suggestions. The hood vents were created using the original side fender louvers as the base shape and heavily debated to myself whether or not to blacken the raised hood lines. I thought the Vette hood decal evened out the proportions as it seemed like an open blank square area on the hood without it. I had another more elaborate version with a different color base car also shadowed in the background and general lettering & logos added to appear like a magazine ad, but I went with this more conservative version for the contest entry.

J_HUI - Thanks for the tip on the wheels, that would look much better. The small details are part of my normal photo editing as well, but I'm learning some new & different processes that were not normally used otherwise by doing these types of images. So now seeing what what was popular here, my next one will be a bit more elaborate and hopefully better quality.
