Stangchero, My 1st Auto-Chop

Hi all, this was my very first (and maybe worst..haha) auto-chop edit. This was the result of just playing around one day recently and has inspired me to create many more vehicle chops out of a "what if.." curiosity before knowing others were doing similar work.

What if Ford had used the Mustang as the basis for the Ranchero?
Here is what I think it might have looked like.

The original image is a standard 1967 Mustang coupe. In this, I shortened the cab to a 2-seater, shortened the front end behind the front wheel moving the fender lettering to the door, extending the body molding behind the door slightly with aligning the rear wheel to retain the original wheelbase, and tail was extended slightly for proportion. I was aiming for feasibility of design as if it could have (or should have) been produced alongside the original models, however the overall photographic quality of this is still relative to the original base image.

Thanks for looking!

Haha this is really cool. A very nice and simple edit. Some blurry parts around the roof and the bed. nothing else to complain about. Welcome to autemo. :)

I love this idea, wondering why no one has come up with it earlier, hah. :D

Apart from what X mentioned, notice how the supposedly silver wheels are a bit too blue? I'll teach you how to clean it up.

First, bring the adjustment layers panel to your screen. (This is assuming you are running Photoshp CS5 or above, If not you can do this by going: Image> adjustment> hue & Saturation)

There are alot of neat tool in this panel which I wish I had when I first started, so please experiment and see what does what.

Anyways, find the hue and sat panel, and then find the blue colour and just lower the saturation so it is barely visible

Good stuff mate, keep chopping!

Nice work on this. The image quality makes it easily believable as a photo.

The proportion is a bit funny now with the shortened front. And it's made even funnier with the badges on the door like that. Looking at these type of cars, the cabin is usually almost at the middle of the car length, especially on these era cars with a long hood housing a big engine in there.

EDIT: Silly Hui, it's only the blue sky reflecting off the wheels. :P
nice adaption,.... you even shortened the front,.... one word "nice Job" :-d
There has a model at Goodwood this year :

It's not original :|
Thanks y'all, I appreciate the comments. However, I did say the quality was relative to the original and I was only just goofing around with this one day that turned into my first (of many) of this type. I wasn't trying to correct the photograph (except some color balance), just change the design of the car so if comparing the two, they would look somewhat alike. I do have a version with the full-length front end, but then it seemed almost too long and didn't finish the details there. Thanks, D-Evo, I see many others like that now though I had made this before actually looking for other examples so it was an independent creation.
