Maybe it's too early for you to do full brush work. I mean you haven't mastered the basics yet. learn the pen tool and your selections will be much better. I think you should do some copy paste chops to master the basics before moving on to full brush work. Have a look in the tutorial section to learn how to do proper tints and shadows under the car.

Good attempt with the chop, but I think you are doing a bit too much, as I can see alot of simple mistakes. To help you out, heres a few things I can see

1: The shadow is all wrong, you should use the shape from the original image as a rough outline
2: The paint is looking a bit flat, maybe using a soft size brush on 10% opacity you can brush some highlights to make the paint shiny
3:when the image was flipped, the Pugeot badge wasn't flipped the right side
4: the window is very see through/ transparent, I used the Pen tool to select an area of the window and then brushed with a big size white brush to make a window.
