Now, about the chop:
your first BIG mistake, was using a low res pic for base. Try looking for pics that are bigger than 1600x.
also the wheels look too big, and the chrome is fake.
you have some nice tutorials here in autemo http://www.autemo.com/forums/?f=22 , take a look and than give it another try

I rather like the whole approach, as mentioned you just have poor quality donors. keep trying it will work out.
