Hui how the hell can you run a 980 GTX with a 550W PSU?
Minimum requirement is 500w, plus this has a good rating.

Honestly I dont know much about PSUs, mistakes were made. :S

Weird is that you get i7 with K and motherboard h97 chipset. (both have support for over clocking but Z series would be better)
H97 and Z series price isn't that much of a difference to and especially if you go with 500GB SSD that prise still is crazy high :D

People who don't know anything about pc's useally want to buy pc for gaming and then they want i7 cpu just cause they think it's future proof :D i7 is for people who do a lot of video editing and graphical work. For gaming i5 is more then enough. For gaming you need mostly good gpu.

I would have waited a bit more before buying pc right now. Especially when skylake is out and motherboards with DDR4. As you have money to buy over priced SSD then it should not be problem with the DDR4 supported motherboard to :P

Don't get me wrong it's still great gear.

Nvidia rocks with the low power it needs and wont get hot. GPU fan wont even spinn in idle.

I have i5 4570, 8GB ddr3 CL9, Zotac GTX 970 4GB, B85 chipset motherboard, 256GB SSD and 2TB WD red.

Edit: I forgot to add that I have 750W Chieftec PSU. I had it in my old pc that had ATI card in it and dint see the point to buy new PSU for new pc 2 years ago :P Deem how time goes by. Already 2 years old pc :D

First time building a PC myself, It honestly wasn't planned very well so mistakes were made. :/

-The store didn't have any i7 4790K so I went with the slightly slower i7 4790.
-I've never been a fan of Overclocking, much prefer a stable pre-tuned hardware so a H97 series is good enough for me.

I was running a i5 2500k which would of been ok to run a GTX 980. but want to be future proof. I actually dont play games on PC at all, only Photoshop and design stuff, so it should be ok..

Thanks for the advice though, I'll keep it in mind in the future.

I noticed this too, I was worried the 980 was broken until I read the fan dont spin until it hits high temperature!

Amazing stuff!

bro i suggest you get a more powerfull PSU at least 750W, 550W might work for a while but you are pushing the PSU pretty hard with that setup and it probably wont last for long like that.
